About Event

Physical activity is one of the best ways to improve overall health and manage stress, yet 1 in 4 U.S. adults are sedentary for more than eight hours each day, which can have negative consequences on physical and mental health.

The American Heart Association, the nation’s oldest and largest organization dedicated to fighting heart disease and stroke, established National Walking Day to encourage people to move more throughout their day.

To participate in National Walking Day, the American Heart Association offers these tips:

  • Ask colleagues, friends or family to join you.

  • If you work remotely, take a conference call on the go. 

  • If you have a pet, get moving together! Walking is a win-win for the health of you and your pet. 

Join us on a formal Wellness Walk throughout campus or walk at your leisure.

A free lunch is provided at the end of the event!
