📍Chicago - International Generalist Day Meetup
International Generalist Day 2025 🌍
Imagine you could meet new friends who understood your squiggly background? Well, now you can!
Join Larura Buso in Chicago for International Generalist Day - a global celebration happening simultaneously across cities worldwide on September 3rd, 2025.
This year we have events across 30+ countries and 80+ locations!
Laura is hosting a relaxed morning of coffee connections and career stories. It's the perfect intimate setting to share the twists and turns of your generalist journey near Union Station
What is a generalist? Professionals who apply their skills across multiple domains, connect disparate ideas, or serve as "translators" between different teams and disciplines. If you've ever felt your career doesn't fit in a single box, this celebration is for you.
What to expect:
Connect with fellow generalists in your city
Celebrate the power of diverse skillsets and squiggly careers
Be part of a global movement happening the same day worldwide
Share and hear incredible career pivot stories
Relaxed, casual conversations about your generalist journey
Your host Laura is a multidisciplinary management consultant with 15 years of experience accelerating value creation through leading innovation initiatives. Laura is a marathoner (12 and counting!) who also serves as a sighted-guide for runners who are blind, a serious wine geek with WSET level 3 sommelier credentials, and endlessly curious about learning and problem-solving.
Questions or accessibility requirements? Contact admin@generalist.world - we're happy to accommodate your needs.
Please note: These events are hosted by volunteer hosts from around the world. While we're doing our best to standardize the experience and ensure everyone has an amazing time, please take care of yourselves and use your best judgment when attending events.
This event is organised by Generalist World - a community for professionals with non-traditional careers. Everyone is welcome, whether you're a member or simply curious about connecting with adaptable, multi-skilled professionals.
