WHY WE MUST: Community and Learning.

• An all night study session • With members of the Oregon Rabbis • Celebrating Torah in all forms and expressions

Beginning May 28 at 6pm, Jews and students of Judaism throughout Oregon and southwest Washington are all invited to zoom a different kind of tikkun leyl Shavuot—a late night learning in honor of the giving of the Torah.

According to Jewish tradition, the Torah was given to the Jewish people on Shavuot. We stay up all night (or as we are able) on erev Shavuot every year to show our desire for Torah learning. This year we gather via the Internet. More of us able to see and learn together than we ever would have imagined. WHY WE MUST? As Jews, we know the importance of prioritizing receiving knowledge. As Jews, we know that we must celebrate nonetheless. As Jews, we know the importance of community.
