About Event

Shift Workshops: Our workshops are a collaborative and interactive experience designed to provide you with practical knowledge, skills, and hands-on experience.

Ever fall into a thinking trap? Maybe you have and just never realized it! Thinking traps are negative thinking patterns that cause us to think in extremes, ignore contrary evidence and rely on our emotions instead of facts. And while they’re pretty common, they’re not always…how do we say…welcomed. Ready to flip the script? Join Shift therapist Sarah Innes on August 17 at 6 PM EST as she guides you through a skill-building activity so you can face thinking traps head-on!

Throughout this workshop, Sarah will guide you through an interactive discussion leading you into a game we all know and love, Kahoot! If this is your first time hearing about Kahoot, this game-based learning platform that will help you (in this case), challenge thinking traps by learning the different ways to recognize them and overcome their effects.

Items to bring to the workshop:

  • Come prepared with a pen and notebook to jot down key insights, personal reflections, and any important takeaways from the workshop. This will help you capture and retain valuable information for future reference.

  • A device where you can download the Kahoot game app!

What you can expect:

  • A comprehensive understanding of cognitive distortions and their impact on your thoughts, emotions, and decision-making processes.

  • To engage in thought-provoking discussions and real-life examples, you will actively participate in the learning process and explore cognitive distortions in a meaningful and experiential way.

  • To discover practical techniques and strategies to challenge and reframe cognitive distortions.

  • Engaging in personal reflection exercises that allow you to apply the concepts directly to your experiences.

Ready to break through those thinking traps? Register now to save your spot! Remember, video on or off is always your call.
