About Event

The Race, Power, & Privilege E-Course by SpeakOut and SHIFT is a powerfully packaged experience essential for every college student. This e-course is available for FREE to current College of DuPage students. Students interested in joining a small group for a conversation about the e-course information are invited to RSVP for the small group conversation circle series. We recommend students plan to attend all three sessions of the series to build a trusted community through conversation, however, you may RSVP for single sessions.

Small Group Schedule

For students interested in joining a small group to complete parts of the course together and participate in 3 virtual discussions.

Welcome Meeting
- Meet your small group
  - Review group discussion dates
  - Complete the "Welcome!" Module together
  - Complete "Ch. 1 Lean Into Your Growing Edge" together
Power Discussion
- Complete Ch. 2 - 5 independently prior to discussion
  - Ch. 2 Let’s Talk About Power
  - Ch. 3 Privilege: Power on an Individual Level
  - Ch. 4 Discrimination: Power on a Collective Level
  - Ch. 5 Oppression: Power on a Systemic Level
Action Discussion
- Complete Ch. 6 - 7 independently prior to discussion
  - Ch. 6 Showing Up in Solidarity
  - Ch. 7 Another World is Possible
  - Complete "Next Steps" together
