About Event

Educators are driven to make a difference and now they are seeking different ways to do it. Teaching outside the box eliminates those brick-and-mortar boundaries and impacts infinitely more learners. It builds communities and brings instructors together to share resources and support ideas.

Denise Newsome believes the most meaningful teaching can occur outside the classroom. She is passionate about preparing STEM-inspired high schoolers for their future. She is a teacher, tutor, and head of the Science Department for grades 6-12.

Denise is a consultant for innovative STEM education and pioneered a Physics of Dance Camp. She transitioned from a face-to-face Nuclear Science and Medicine camp to an online format. Denise strives to encourage educators who are interested in shifting away from the traditional school system.

In this event, Denise will discuss how to structure a safety net and take the leap from the blackboard to a virtual platform.
