About Event

join us for a casual discussion salon where we'll chat about our personal relationships with sustainability and climate change 🌱

🔍 basic details

when? saturday may 25th, 4-5:30pm
where? good coffee farms, nihonbashi
who? anyone is welcome!
cost? free (but one drink order is required to support the venue 🫰)
language: english

we'll explore questions like how we want to be & act in this complex climate crisis, and reflect on the privilege of living in japan, where many of us feel disconnected from some of the prominent effects. we'll also dive into what holds us back from becoming more engaged with sustainability, sharing struggles we face and what encourages and motivates us.

How it works: we do a few short rounds of chatting in different pairs/small groups, on question prompts that we’ve prepared (although you’re welcome to freely share about anything on this topic!), and then end with some whole-group sharing.

it's easy to feel paralysed by overwhelm, or even uninterested, and think we can't make a difference, so let's come together to talk about our feelings around the climate and support each other! bring your thoughts, your stories, and let's connect over some meaningful conversation, all while drinking some sustainably & ethically sourced coffee from Good Coffee Farms.

whatever your relationship is with climate change right now, you’re welcome to join!

🌱 about Good Coffee Farms

GOOD COFFEE FARMS processes coffee in a sustainable fashion, without water, electricity or fuel. The project, which started in Guatemala, has now expanded into Colombia and Brazil. GOOD COFFEE FARMS was founded in 2017 by Carlos Melen, a native of Guatemala who has lived in Japan for around 20 years. Under the slogan, “Coffee Changing the World,” the project strives to once and for all resolve the coffee industry’s structural issue where small-scale producers are trapped in poverty.
