IITA: 11.11: Mt. Tam Loop
It's In The Air on Mt. Tam!
A hiking club with a tech meetup problem!
Get ready for a climb!
Join the IITA hiking crew as we take on the challenging yet rewarding 5 mile loop in Mount Tamalpais State Park. This popular moderately difficult trail gains over 1,500 feet in elevation. We'll start on the Matt Davis Trail, ascending through lush forests with occasional glimpses of the Bay. At West Point Inn we'll take a break, fuel up, and take in the sweeping views. The Railroad Grade Fire Road wraps around the hillsides as we keep an eye out for mountain bikers before descending Gravity Car Trail back to the trailhead. With the IITA Smart Hikes matchmaking, you're sure to meet interesting people along the way! Dogs are not permitted. Let's challenge ourselves on this iconic Mount Tam hike and celebrate after with drinks at Mountain Home Inn.
