(Bay Area) Empowering the Modern Muslimah: Creating Change
✨ Salaam Bay Area! ✨
In these challenging times, with growing uncertainty and rising Islamophobia, it’s more important than ever to understand our rights, reclaim our narrative, and advocate for change in the spaces we occupy. The recent unjust treatment of Mahmoud Khalil, a Palestinian student and activist whose green card was revoked, serves as a stark reminder of how crucial it is for us to come together.
Join us for an empowering afternoon filled with dynamic speakers and engaging discussions.
This workshop will focus on:
Understanding Your Rights & Resources: Stay informed and empowered by navigating recent events and understanding your rights.
Exploring Effective Change-Making Methods: Learn a variety of strategies to maintain resilience and drive impactful change in your careers and communities. You'll hear from:
Zahra Billoo, Executive Director of CAIR-SFBA
Fahria Khan, Community Leader
Mariam Tareen, Head of Product @ Walmart Business
Sister Leen, Admin in Big Tech
You'll also have the chance to connect with like-minded individuals, share experiences, and enjoy delicious refreshments from local vendors Fruits By Heart and Swirled Gourmet Sweets.
It’s not just a workshop – it’s a chance to come together, learn, and take meaningful action toward creating a better future for our ummah.
This workshop will also provide a safe space to discuss the unique challenges that Muslim women face in both their careers and communities. You’ll walk away with valuable insights and strategies to not only thrive but also advocate for the change you want to see in the world.
