Forest Gardening Weekend
Join us for a weekend of planting as we install a variety of trees, shrubs, and grasses in a row that runs on-contour through our orchard. This agroforestry strip is continuing our work transitioning a conventional monocrop orchard into a thriving and diverse food forest.
After a short introduction on some agroforestry principles and how they guide our process, we’ll get hands-on for the rest of the weekend:
Prepping the site and soil amendments for plantings
Planting a variety of trees, shrubs, grasses, etc.
Mulching deeply & seeding
Installing irrigation
This is an event for both experts and beginners - come get your hands in the soil with us!
