TORINO COMEDY LOUNGE: SHOWCASE
COMEDIANS ON THEIR FEET
In this showcase showcase we present the Comici In Piedi project, a stand up comedy collective, born in 2016, with more than 200 live shows to its credit in the best Italian comedy clubs, based in Turin where the event sells out monthly with more than three hundred attendees.
The show is divided into an initial collective moment of improvisation with the audience and then proceeds with a monologue by each participant and concludes with a mini comedy challenge between the participants.
THE COMEDIANS
PIPPO RICCIARDI
Comedian, author, improviser with more than 2,000 stages to his credit. He was born in '91 in Andria in the BAT province (Barletta-Andria-Trani) and in 2012 he moved to Turin where in 2016 he graduated from Philip Radice's Atelier of Physical Theater studying theater, improvisation, creative writing, directing and a whole series of strange things like acrobatics and tip-tap. He believes that making people laugh is one of the highest forms of “enjoying.” He likes to do things wrong but for good. He is an adorable chaotic good guy. His theatrical experience began when he founded the duo “Gilet and Salopet” with which he participated in major street theater festivals and earned him some television appearances. Monologist and comic author, improviser first with the group Antica Bottega di Improvvisazione and then with V.I.P. Varietà Improvvisato per Davvero.
In 2017 he founded the stand up comedy collective “Comici in Piedi” with which he performs in all comedy clubs in Italy. Since 2018 he has been the author and host of “Best Wednesday of The Week,” Turin's first late comedy show, and co-author, together with comedian Antonio Piazza, of the live show “Hormone, waiting for Avanzi di Balera.” In February 2024, the comedian participated in LOL talent - Chi fa ridere è dentro, finishing second
ANTONIO PIAZZA
Born in 1983 in Palermo - a master's degree in engineering and a past in ska music as lead singer of Sottocosto, since 2015 in Turin where he studies comedy at Philip Radice's Atelier Teatro Fisico.
In 2019 he began his first official stand up comedy tour, splitting his time between the office and shows before finally leaving engineering in 2023 to devote himself full time to comedy. After participating in Comedy Central's (Sky) “Open Mic Tour,” he is selected for the cast of “Comedy Central Live” 2023
In 2024 he records his first special “LA VIVO MALE” later distributed on Youtube.
Together with Angelo Amaro he is one of the teachers of the stand-up writing course in Turin at Feltrinelli and Alessandro Baricco's Holden School.
EMANUELE TUMOLO
Began working in the theater world at the age of 18. He performed in street theater, juggling and clown shows, and then discovered contemporary theater in his college years.
With the Respirale Teatro company in Bologna comes a special mention at the Premio Scenario, a national competition for companies under 35, which allows him to debut at the Franco Parenti theater with the show “Italy is the country I love” and first prize at the Scintille festival with the show “Again/Bynow.”
After moving to Turin, he faces Stand-up Comedy by founding together with Pippo Ricciardi and Antonio Piazza the collective “Comici in Piedi.”In 2021 he joined the regular cast as an actor and improviser in the candid camera program “Deal With It” aired on NOVE.
