Workshop: Science through Computation
The Computational Motifs Initiative is coming to San Francisco!
Together with Pebblebed, we’re hosting a 2-day hackathon on 26-27 March connecting builders and scientists across disciplines, from both academia and industry, to build new methods and tools for the computational and natural sciences. The morning of day 1 will feature talks, discussions, and structured brainstorming sessions to identify the key challenges in computational science, followed by 1.5 days of hacking on tools to solve them. Food will be provided.
Come hear from leading researchers in AI, connect with like-minded innovators, and build tools to accelerate the natural sciences!
About us:
The Computational Motifs Initiative brings together 15 computational natural scientists from Oxford, Cambridge, and Imperial College London. Spanning physics, biology, chemistry, and neuroscience, we focus on identifying computational motifs - shared patterns and bottlenecks across scientific disciplines - which can become powerful targets for innovation. These targets are opportunities where computational advances can accelerate scientific discovery at an unprecedented rate. This hackathon will build transatlantic collaborations around these targets. A follow-up hackathon in London is planned for June to keep the momentum going.
