Speaker and Talk Details
Talk 1: "Data Contracts: Building Data Trust"
Data Trust is a fundamental quality of any reliable and useful data ecosystem. We explore how to build and maintain data quality to foster trust through Data Contracts. Data Contracts is a mechanism that defines the data interface, defines its underlying guarantees and document ownership. Izzudin Hafiz, former Data Engineer and current Chief Technology Officer at Decube is the architect of his current company’s implementation of Data Contract. He will dive into how you can utilise Data Contracts in your own data stack to help build Data Trust.
About Izzudin Hafiz
Izzudin Hafiz used to be like any day-to-day data engineer, building data pipelines and fighting the modern data stack. Seeing the gap in data quality monitoring, he went on to co-found Decube to solve problems for the modern Data Team. He is currently the CTO at Decube, driving the engineering team in building a Unified data platform meant to catalogue, observe and govern the data ecosystem.
Talk 2: "Grokking Vector Databases"
Vector databases are becoming increasingly important in the world of AI where they power GenAI applications that leverage embeddings. A very simple yet difficult to answer question is "What vector database should I use?". In this talk, I'll explore the why, how, and what of vector databases and assist you with answering this question based on my work at MoneyLion.
About Yudhiesh Ravindranath
Yudhiesh works at MoneyLion in the Machine Learning Labs team as a Senior Machine Learning Engineer. The team focuses on AI R&D to tackle challenging and high-ROI tasks for the entire organization and currently focuses on Search & GenAI initiatives.
Important Note
❗️Registration is required to ensure enough seats and F&B is prepared and overall the space can comfortably accommodate everybody
❗️❗️ No-shows will contribute to food wastage and may cause delays in the meetup
For example, we'd have to add more chairs if there are a lot more people
Another example, we'd like to start the meetup when most have arrived, and we won't know what "most" means if you don't RSVP and check in
