About Event

Calling all academics, researchers, web3 developers, and those who are curious about science! Join us for our monthly DeSci London meetup. Everyone is welcome 😊😊😊

Dont forget to sign up to our conference: https://lu.ma/DeSciLondon2025

🌐 What: Science is broken and we think DeSci can fix it! This month we critically examine the rise of meme coins and their broader implications within the web3 and decentralized science (DeSci) ecosystems. While often dismissed as humorous or frivolous, these digital assets have gained significant traction, raising questions about their underlying value, cultural impact, and long-term sustainability. This discussion will explore the memetic foundations of these coins—how they leverage social dynamics, virality, and collective belief systems to gain prominence—and critically assess whether such phenomena contribute meaningfully to innovation or merely reflect speculative trends

🗓️ When: The last Thursday of every month!

🔍 Curious about DeSci? DeSci stands for Decentralised Science, check out the articles below if you want to know more. But don't worry if you are a newcomer, most people are!
