Advances in Synthetic Embryo Models with Jacob Hanna
We've the great pleasure to bring one of the leading scientific minds of our time, Jacob Hanna, to talk about "Advances in Synthetic Embryo Models" at Fifty Years HQ. The event will take place on Feb 17th, 6-7:30 pm.
You'd know him from his groundbreaking research in stem-cell biology. His lab at Weizmann Institute in Israel was the first to develop (or mimic) realistic-looking mouse embryos without sperm, egg, or uterus and keep them growing in a 'mechanical womb' (Cell & Nature).
He is also the co-founder of Renewal Bio, a company that hopes to eventually utilize this technology to develop new organs and biomaterials for curing disease, and extending fertility, health, and lifespan. "We view the embryo as the best 3D Bio printer. It’s the best entity to make organs and proper tissue, and thus we should try to emulate it” says Hanna.
We're bringing together a carefully curated group of scientists, investors, and founders for 1h talk (30 min fireside chat + 30 min Q&A). You're personally invited to join!
