Ulcerative Colitis: Testing, Nutrition, Management

​Ulcerative colitis is an inflammatory condition of the colon and is the most common type of inflammatory bowel disease worldwide. It affects 600,000-900,000 people in the United States and accounts for 250,000 annual medical office visits. It generally begins gradually and worsens over time without treatment.  It can cause significant impairment to quality of life during symptom flares.
