Workshop - SÁL
We are pleased to host our first workshop of 2025, dedicated to Sál - our most recent project, years in the making, which successfully premiered at the end of April at the National Taichung Theatre in Taiwan.
In this session, you’ll have the opportunity to meet part of our creative team and learn more about the production and development of this deeply meaningful work.
Sál (“soul”) is a live media opera that explores the universal theme of impermanence, reflecting on the ever-changing nature of life. Sál builds upon the narrative threads established in the two previous live performances, Ljós (2014) and Dökk (2017), concluding the trilogy's narrative journey. The piece explores this fleeting threshold between one state and another, examining the intricate emotional dynamics that unfold in these moments of uncertainty and instability. The piece invites a deep contemplation of life’s inherent entropy, encouraging the audience to surrender to the precious fragility of life.
During the workshop, we will dive into the scientific research behind the project and its visual language.
In particular, we will share the astrophysical representations of black holes, created in collaboration with KU Leuven and the University of Toronto, and we will explain how their implementation in the workflow brought Sál to life.
