Gathered: A Reading Party
Our little experiment continues. It turns out our community is full of folks who love reading with friends as much as we do. And so, by popular demand, we are hosting the next Gathered: A Reading Party on February 23rd at Walsh Family Wine. We’d love for you to join us.
NOTE: Ticket cost includes 1 drink ticket—your first glass is on us!
What is a reading party, you ask?
Well, it’s not a book club—there’s no homework. It’s an opportunity to gather with other book lovers, offline, to read and meet people without the requirement of reading the same book. It’s a space where we can get together, share some quiet reading time, and maybe get to know each other a little bit. Bring your own book (or audio book), grab a glass of wine, and settle in.
Our friends from Birch Tree Bookstore will be there with a curated selection of books and bookish things for purchase as well as plant babies from Foliage Plant Shop to enhance the atmosphere and inspire you to adopt one.
There will be an informal book swap where you can leave-one-take-one if you have a book or two you’re ready to pass along.
We’re collaborating with our friends at Walsh Family Wine to pair favorite titles with favorite wines. We’ll have a display for you to explore and hopefully be inspired by.
When is it?
Sunday, February 23rd. The party starts at 3pm and will officially last until Walsh closes at 6pm.
Does it cost money?
This time, yes—there is a small ticket cost that includes your first glass of wine (alcoholic or otherwise) and helps us keep the event going.
After all the love our first reading party received, we thought about how to make it a sustainable, recurring event. The cost of your ticket helps us pay for the space and support our local businesses. If you find the ticket price prohibitive, please reach out and let us know—we don't want funds to keep anyone away.
What should I bring?
Bring something to read! And feel free to bring a book or two you’re ready to pass along for the book swap. Any book donations that are not claimed will find their way into Walsh’s Free Little Library to be discovered by someone new.
Will there be food? Drinks?
We’re hosting the event at a local winery, so there will be wine, as well as non-alcoholic options, and snacks available for purchase.
