On Tuesday this week, Nirmala Sitharaman announced a 30% tax on any income from the transfer of virtual digital assets.
It’s not limited to that, the loss arising from the sale of any virtual assets cannot be set off against any other income.
And 1% TDS would be applicable on the sale of digital assets.
While some people are welcoming this move as now government recognizes cryptocurrency as an asset class, still, people are confused regarding what does it mean for people who have invested in crypto?
And would we witness a wave of founders leaving India who were building in the Web3 space?
