Washington Clean Energy Testbeds
What is the Washington Clean Energy Testbeds?: An open-access lab in Seattle dedicated to climate tech innovation, founded on the principle of users retaining all intellectual property. The Testbeds are operated by the University of Washington Clean Energy Institute (UW CEI) and are located adjacent to the UW campus. The Testbeds offer customized training and use of instruments for fabricating prototypes, testing devices and modules, and integrating power systems; and the main facility also houses meeting and office space where users from academia and business work and collaborate. In October 2024, CEI unveiled plans to expand the Testbeds to include state-of-the-art capabilities for producing batches of pouch cell battery prototypes.
