Freestyle Chess Rules: (Fisher Random/Chess960)
Each round there will be a randomized position for the pieces on the back rank (first and eighth ranks) are randomly placed, with the king between the rooks and the bishops on opposite-colored squares. Pawns remain in their standard starting positions, and the rest of the rules of chess apply.
Randomized Starting Position: The major and minor pieces (except pawns) on the first and eighth ranks are randomly placed, but the king must be placed between the two rooks.
Bishop Placement: The bishops must be placed on squares of opposite colors.
Pawns: The pawns remain in their standard starting positions on the second and seventh ranks.
Normal Chess Rules: The movement and capture rules of standard chess apply to Freestyle Chess.
No Opening Theory: Because of the random starting positions, players cannot rely on memorized opening moves, forcing them to think more creatively and develop strategies on the spot.
Castling: It is similar to standard chess but with a crucial difference; the initial positions of the king and rooks can vary. The key is that the king and rook always end up on the same squares as in standard chess, regardless of their starting locations.
-If castling Kingside, the king ends up on the g1/g8 square, and the rook from the h-file ends up on the f1/f8 square.
-If castling Queenside, the king ends up on the c1/c8 square, and the rook from the a-file ends up on the d1/d8 square.
Blitz Tournament --> 5+0 each side, max 10 min per game. A win is one point to the winner, a draw is half a point to each player, a loss is 0 points to the loser.
There are 7 rounds in total. The top 3 players will be given prizes. Playing an illegal move forfeits the game unless otherwise granted a take-back by your opponent. However, please note that they are not obligated to give you one. The same hand that hits the clock also moves the pieces. No two handed play unless adjusting pieces. When castling, touch the king first. Touch move / clock move is agreed upon by you and your opponent. In the event of an illegal move, king capturing is permitted (do not be surprised if someone takes your king)
Prizes :
1st place -100$
2nd place -50$
3rd place -25$
