Engaged learning for adults in online classes | LXP Jam with Steve Houghton
After being forced to integrate learning with online meeting tools, learning designers have had to tweak or revamp courses in order to maintain learning outcomes. In performing this 'redesign' of courses, we must bridge the gap between the ultimate convenience of attending virtual classes from home, and the ultimate distraction of attending virtual classes from home. In this jam we will explore:
What are the factors to consider when redesigning these learning experiences
What are some tactics we can employ to best keep learners engaged?
Steve's Bio:
Although I am currently working on my 7th career as an instructional designer, instruction has been a large part of previous careers and side-gigs.
Currently, I am designing and instructing theory courses in the commercial driving industry. All courses are delivered virtually, in-person (without the use of an LMS).
