Dr Erick Gbodossou is the President and founder of NGO PRO.ME.TRA. International (Promotion of Traditional Medicines), Director of CEMETRA (Experimental Center for Traditional Medicines) of the Fatick region, Senegal. He is a consultant and resource person for several international organizations for the protection, promotion and valorization of natural health and traditional knowledge and knowing. Holder of 18 patents, initiator of collaborative research with American and international universities and institutions, Dr Erick GBODOSSOU is the author of some fifteen books dealing with multiple and varied themes, ranging from culture to research itself, including slavery, ethics, science and development in general.
Dr Omavi Bailey is a clinical doctor with a specialisation in family and sleep medicine. Besides his clinical expertise his experience and training span from initiations in sacred temples to studying at the feet of African traditional healers and spiritual leaders. However, his formal training as a Somnologist, Epidemiologist, and Medical Doctor has also allowed him to bridge his traditional knowledge with his western training to serve patients through his clinical practice. Dr Bailey currently holds board certifications from the American Board of Family Practice and the American Academy of Sleep Medicine and the American Board of Obesity Medicine. His depth of knowledge and enthusiasm about natural and novel treatments for chronic and ‘incurable’ diseases influences his use of innovative natural therapies as an intervention to treat and prevent chronic illnesses and restore bio-psycho-spiritual harmony with his patients.
Beaven Tendayi Munyengeterwa holds a Diploma to practice as a Traditional Healer in Commonwealth Countries and has a Certificate of pre-post and counselling for HIV/AIDS. He is registered as a Traditional Medical Practitioner with Zimbabwe Traditional Medicine Practitioners Council (TMPC). is the founder and Executive Chairman of PROMETRA Zimbabwe. He also founded Moyo Herbal and Complementary Therapy in South Africa. He is a Traditionalist, Traditional Healer, Herbalist and Spiritual Healer.
Dr. Sekagya Yahaya Hills is a Traditional Healer, Cert. PPM, Dip. Law, BDS-(Dental Surgeon), MPH, PhD-Fellow with Mbarara University of Science and Technology. He is a traditional healer by calling since 1978, holds a Certificate in Project Planning and Management, a Diploma in Law, a Medical Degree in Dental Surgeon, and a Masters of Public Health. Sekagya is the Director of PROMETRA Uganda (NGO), Founder of Dr Sekagya Institute of Traditional Medicine, Secretary-General – National Integrated Forum for Traditional Health Practitioners in Uganda, Board Member of National Drug Authority (NDA) of Uganda (2017-2020), Secretary Board of Directors; International Indigenous HIV/AIDS Community (IIHAC) based in Canada, and Member of Technical Committee Uganda National Bureau of Standard 405 Health Services Standards, Member PROMETRA International headquartered in Dakar – Senegal. He is a traditional healthcare spiritualist with a major interest in promoting traditional medicine and healthcare in its totality.
Martha Njama is a member of the Board of Directors of PROMETRA Kenya and also sits on the Board of PROMETA International. She joined Prometra Kenya in 2003 when it was at the formation stage and is one of the founders of the organization which was founded and registered as an NGO in 2004. She has held different positions within the organisation; Treasurer, Secretary and she is CEO of the organization, a position she has held since 2005. She has been playing the role of ensuring smooth running of the day-to-day activities of the organization and also coordinating the various programs that have been run by the organization; Traditional healers programs, local community nutrition, climate change, desertification and other environmental programs. She is currently coordinating/working with the traditional healer groups on the prevention and treatment of COVID-19 within the local communities.
Dr Kensese Sontin Mossanda holds a degree in Pharmacy; 3 Master’s degrees in Tropical Medicine & Biology, Clinical Biology and Food Sciences and a PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences (Biochemistry & Toxicology) from the State University of Liege, Belgium. His previous appointments include Postdoctoral Fellow in many Universities in Europe, USA, Asia and Africa; Professor, Dean of Faculty of Pharmacy, and Head of Clinical Biology Department at the University of Kinshasa, DR-Congo. As Professor and Research Coordinator at the Medical University of Southern Africa (Medunsa) and also at Walter Sisulu University (WSU-South Africa), he has been teaching Clinical Biochemistry and Toxicology and leading clinical research projects. He is presently conducting research projects in Canada and supervising postgraduate students from African and Western Institutions especially in the fields of Cancer, Medicinal plants and Natural products. He is also acting as an external examiner of Masters and PhD dissertations from various academic Institutions.
Amavi Amah Ayao is the key person for the Minister of Health and WHO Gabon. He has been passionate about traditional medicine since childhood. He absorbed several training courses in this field in Bamako at INRSP DMT (Mali) with Prof. Arouna Keita, Prof. K. Didier Gnama (Togo) and with many other healers. He is also a member of the national association of traditional therapists of Togo. Founder of the AMEGA centre, he brought the Togolese delegation to several exhibitions around the world (Paris, Lyon, Las Palmas, Tunis, Senegal, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Mali, Ghana, Gabon, Kenya, South Africa, Toronto, Korea etc.) He is President of PROMETRA Gabon and also a radio journalist.
Fai Fominyen Ngu Edward is an International consultant in African Traditional Medicine. Founder of the National Association of Cameroon Traditional Doctors and Current President of the Association for the Promotion of Traditional Medicine in Africa (PROMETRA) Cameroon. Close to 40 years of practice, defence and promotion of traditional medical care in Cameroon and Africa. The Healer presents issues related to traditional African medical care in its holistic and practical dimension. He is passionate about the promotion of traditional medicine, a collaboration between its practitioners and those of modern medicine and initiatives aimed at saving the lives of children, men and women in Cameroon, Africa and the World.
Flora Gbodossou is the Financial Director of METRAF Company SA (Medicine and African Tradition), juice factory: in charge of input and output, of management of employees and their work. She also assists the President of PROMETRA (Promotion of Traditional Medicine), in charge of the organization of meetings, appointments, PV, mailing etc.
Beatrice Achaleke is the Engish translator and publisher of "Stay Healthy With Plants" by Dr Gbodossou. She is a proud African woman with over 25 years of global experience.
