Josh is a venture partner at SignalFire, a $2.1 billion early-stage VC fund that builds AI to help its portfolio companies with recruiting and sales. He focuses on pre-seed and consumer, and leads SignalFire’s PR advisory program for its portfolio.
Previously, Josh was Editor-At-Large for TechCrunch and was ranked the #1 most cited tech journalist 2016–2020 by Techmeme. He has moderated over 225 on-stage interviews in 18 countries with leaders like Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg and whistleblower Edward Snowden. Josh holds a Master’s degree in Cybersociology from Stanford University, where he studied the influence of technology on social interaction.
Kristina Subbotina
Founder, Lawlace & Lexsy
Kristina is an ex-Cooley startup lawyer and the founder of Lawlace, a tech-enabled law firm for startups, and Lexsy, a platform offering AI-powered legal products with a human lawyer in the loop for startups. Over the past 8+ years, Kristina has represented thousands of innovative startups and top-tier VC funds, guiding them through every stage of their lifecycle—from formation to exits.
Before becoming a founder, Kristina worked as the legal counsel at two venture-backed startups, helping them scale from Seed to Series B, and at Cooley, a law firm synonymous with venture capital. Her legal journey began in 2014 when she moved to the U.S. to study law at USC—a story that resonates with the challenges many startup founders face, especially immigrant entrepreneurs.
Beyond providing legal services, Kristina actively shares startup legal insights on Instagram, TikTok, Linkedin and YouTube, demystifying complex legal concepts to empower founders worldwide.
