About Event

Hard-earned wisdom, laughable missteps, and not-so-laughable errors are all too familiar when building an agency.

Join us on the evening of the 14th to hear from three Toronto-based design studio founders about the joys and pains of starting a studio.

Agenda

6:15 PM – Doors open

6:30PM – Starting a Studio (& other painful things you can do to yourself) Keynote by Taha Hossain

  • Taha is the founder of Daybreak Studio, a technology-first design studio recently named one of Adweek’s fastest growing agencies. As a studio, they’ve worked with clients like Adidas, McDonald’s, Ramp, Microsoft and more to create experiences that translate across mediums.

7:15PM – Panel with Ronald Tau and Jared Henriques

  • Ronald Tau is a graphic designer and founder of Meat Studio, specializing in typography and brand identity design. His work aims to bridge cultures through the equalizing power of graphic and typographic communication. His work at Meat has been recognized by the Type Directors Club, Art Directors Club, Tokyo TDC, Communication Arts, Applied Arts, RGD Ultrabold, among others. His work has been showcased by industry press including Its Nice That, Dieline, Vice, 032C, and Creative Review. He teaches typography and graphic design at York University and George Brown School of Design.

  • Jared is the founder of Renga, a brand strategy and design studio. Insatiably curious, he loves to dive deep with every client to help them tell their story in a clear and compelling way. Jared believes that the future needs good brands and is always looking for ways to collaborate with others to do good and make things better.

8:00PM – Connect with each over complimentary food and drinks.
