About Event

What is the Tana C.O.D.E. Experiment?

We have embarked an an ambitious plan, and now we need your help!

The Second Brain Summit is a very rare moment because it will gather in the same place and time, the best and most enthusiastic minds in PKM (Personal Knowledge Management).

Let's seize this opportunity!

With your help, we plan on creating what may be one of the world's first Collaborative Knowledge Graphs in Tana, a groundbreaking platform for digital notes.

One of the biggest problems leading up to the Summit is missing out on fantastic speakers, by having to chose between simultaneous presentations.

If only there was a solution to this, where we could collaborate, share notes, and organize them in one place.

Maybe that's possible using a technology that plans to reinvent the way that humans, teams, and computers work together!

Let's find out!

Why Participate?

Why should you sign up as a Tana C.O.D.E. Experimenter?

  • You'll get early access to Tana.

  • You'll get hands-on support from Fis and Aaron.

  • You'll get a Tana Starter Kit template by Fis, with powerful AI Commands to process Voice Notes.

  • Work on an unprecedented Shared Knowledge Management experiment along with other summit attendees.

  • Get access to notes and reflections about breakout sessions you were unable to attend, by other attendees!

  • Be invited to the BASB Tana Afterparty on Saturday Oct. 5th, where we'll use the Capture content from the Summit, and use Tana to Distill and Express!

Your Task: Capture Phase

During the two-day event, your task as an Experimenter is easy.

Your ONLY Task:

To Capture your best reflections, thoughts, conversations, and questions from the sessions, as well as your conversations with others.

At the event, your focus is on capturing.

Be present, in the moment, and then use an easy-to-operate capture tool, that handles spoken audio, written notes, and images.

Don't worry! We will provide instructions (and AI Commands) to help you, and you don't need to be a Tana user to participate!

Disclaimer: To participate, we ask you to share with us AT LEAST ONE of your notes about a speaker's session in the event.

(Yes, that's all we ask for! Feel free to contribute with more.)

Organize/Distill Phase

Your captured notes will be combined with inputs from other Experimenters in a shared Tana workspace, accessible to all active participants in the Tana C.O.D.E. Experiment.

This will happen at the BASB Afterparty on Saturday, Oct. 5th.

Fis Fraga and Aaron Lawson will work through a live demo using Tana to tag, highlight, and process notes with supertags and custom AI commands.

Experimenters are welcome to partake in the Organize and Distill process. If you want to actively Organize and Distill, we encourage you to bring your laptops to the Afterparty.

We aren't sure exactly what the final Collaborative Knowledge Graph will look like, but we’re excited for the opportunity to learn with you.

This is a group experiment that we hope will continue with new friends and connections long after the summit is over.

OBS: You don't need to attend the Afterparty to participate in the Tana C.O.D.E. Experiment. And you will still get access to the shared notes!

If you can make it, this will be a fantastic opportunity to share and learn from other attendees.

Express Phase

A few weeks after the Second Brain Summit, Fis Fraga and Aaron Lawson will be hosting an online meetup to share the results of The Tana C.O.D.E. Experiment and talk with our Experimenters about what we learned.

This event will be exclusive for members who actively participated somehow in the Capture, Organize, and Distill Phases at the BASB Summit and Afterparty.

What Now?

If this sounds interesting to you—if you want to see the thoughts and reflections from your fellow Summit attendees and are willing to share your own ideas—sign up as a Tana C.O.D.E. Experimenter.

This means you’ll capture and share at least one personal reflection or idea from a main session, and one from a breakout session.

We hope to have Experimenters in each breakout session to make the Collaborative Knowledge Graph as valuable as possible for everyone!

Sign up now, and we’ll be in touch soon with onboarding instructions!
