Social Entrepreneurship 101 & Canada’s Investment Readiness Program
Event Description
Supporting Social Purpose Organizations and enabling their success is key to Canada’s economic, social, cultural and environmental success today and in the future. Social entrepreneurs and their social enterprises are focused on building a more sustainable and resilient future through innovative work aimed at collaborative systems change. However, impact-driven entrepreneurs can often encounter some unique challenges when it comes to brainstorming innovative ideas and solutions, building capacity, or accessing financial support.
Funded by the Government of Canada, the Investment Readiness Program (IRP) is a $50 million grants and contributions program over two years (2021 to 2023) designed to support social purpose organizations (SPOs) as they contribute to solving pressing social, cultural, and environmental challenges across Canada. The program is delivered by 26 organizations.
Mindful of the challenges that lie ahead for social entrepreneurs and social enterprises, we are bringing together a group of experts and advisors in this field, to equip you with some of the foundational knowledge, tools, and resources needed to successfully and confidently navigate your journey to systemic change.
