​Create your first Social dApp is a hands-on session designed to introduce participants to the world of decentralized applications (dApps) and how to build a social dApp using blockchain technology. In this session, participants will learn about the basics of blockchain technology, smart contracts, and how they can be leveraged to build decentralized social applications.

​The session will begin with an overview of the concept of dApps and the benefits they offer, including greater security, transparency, and decentralization. The facilitator will provide a brief introduction to blockchain technology, including its key features, such as immutability, consensus, and cryptographic security.

​Following the introduction, participants will be guided through the process of building a social dApp. They will be shown how to use popular blockchain development tools, such as Truffle and Ganache, and how to write smart contracts using the Solidity programming language. They will also learn about the different types of blockchain networks, such as public, private, and consortium, and how to deploy their dApp on these networks.

​Luke will walk the participants through the steps to create a social dApp that allows users to create and share content with their friends on a decentralized platform. Participants will learn how to write smart contracts that enable the creation of user accounts, the creation of posts and comments, and the ability to like and share posts.
