βThe workshop introduces participants to the interdisciplinary field of neurotechnology, emphasizing its role in understanding and enhancing the brain's functionality. It covers critical topics such as brain-computer interfaces, neuroimaging, and neuromodulation. Participants will learn about real-world applications, including medical devices like prosthetics, neuromodulators, and augmentation tools that enhance cognitive and physical capabilities. The workshop also highlights current challenges in neurotech, such as bandwidth limitations, implantation complications, and ethical concerns.
βSpeaker: Ruby PrinsenΒ
βRuby is a psychology PhD student at the University of Alberta, with an MSc from the University of Edinburgh. Ruby has an interdisciplinary background in embodied cognition, with experience in a variety of methods, including neurotechnology and qualitative research. Her research primarily focuses on the dynamic nature of social interactions and how they change with familiar others. Ruby is also the Director of Education for NeurAlbertaTech.
