🤙 About Event
Farmers are leading the charge in regenerating our soils, protecting water resources, and fighting climate change. But they can’t do it alone. This panel will center farmers’ voices and experiences, exploring the financial, structural, and policy challenges they face in transitioning to regenerative practices. From the struggles of funding delays and market access to the innovative solutions farmers are developing to build resilience, this discussion will highlight what it takes to scale climate-smart farming.

We’ll hear from farmers, funders, and support organizations about how to make regenerative agriculture financially viable and scalable—without putting the burden solely on farmers.

Moderator: Alana Williams, Zero FoodPrint

Panelists:

Sarah Franz, Healing Soils Foundation
📌 Why They’re Here: Healing Soils Foundation (HSF) is filling critical financial gaps for farmers through direct grants and emergency bridge funding. Their Regenerative Farmer Assurance Fund (RFAF) is ensuring farmers can continue regenerative practices even when federal funding is delayed or unreliable.

Will Holloway, Longer Table Farm
📌 Why They’re Here: Many farmers struggle to make regenerative agriculture economically viable. In 2014, Longer Table Farm was little more than an oversized garden and a half-baked idea. It is now a 10 acre, highly productive Certified Organic farm in the heart of Sonoma County, California..

🙌 Event Hosts
Seeds of Hope cultivates wellness and food justice by helping communities reconnect with fresh, healthy food. We distribute more than 70,000 pounds of fruits and vegetables weekly, establish community gardens, and provide education on gardening, composting, healthy cooking, and food preservation to increase nutrition and minimize food waste.

Food x Climate is a group of climate-minded food innovators and activists seeking solutions to one of the most critical yet underserved areas of the climate fight: Food and Climate. Current estimates suggest that we can do everything else right and still lose the fight for a healthy environment if we don’t sufficiently decarbonize food!
