How to: Use co-promotion to build strong referral partnerships

​If you’re a B2B service provider, you’ve probably attempted to find referral partners. We know why they’re valuable: referrals can be a huge source of new business from outside our own audience. We also know they’re difficult to build: relationships take time, persistence, and investment to become comfortable referring each other.

Co-promotion is a powerful way to get there. When you co-promote, you build trust, get to know each other’s businesses better, and double the visibility for both of you.

In this interactive workshop, we’ll learn how to use co-promotion as a direct path to building strong referral partnerships. We’ll discuss why (and when) it’s worth your time, how co-promotion works, what you need in your toolkit to make co-promotion easy and repeatable, and tips for success. You’ll leave with a clear, actionable plan for using co-promotion to help you grow your network.

This workshop is most useful for B2B service providers who have an audience (small is fine) and at least one marketing channel.

​About the Host:

​After several years of trying - and failing - to grow her design business using standard marketing methods, Janna Carlson walked away from all of them. She left behind social media, blogging, podcasting, and newsletters. Instead, she doubled down on building her own referral network. During that process, Janna realized that comfortable, values-driven, people-first networking spaces are incredibly difficult to find. So Janna stopped looking and started The Co-Promotion Club. It was originally for her own referral partners until she launched it to the public in December of 2024.

Originally from the U.S., Janna lives in Portugal where she’s benefited tremendously from learning patience and drinking great wine.
