Spotlight on the Art

This event coincides with Objects, Intuitions, Concepts, a two-person exhibition at Harkawik, showcasing the works of Ted Mineo and Elizabeth Crawford. Both artists explore how everyday objects carry deep social, cultural, and economic significance:

  • Ted Mineo (born 1981, New Orleans, LA) is a New York-based artist who creates surreal, hyper-detailed depictions of discarded consumer objects. His work transforms everyday fragments—gadgets, accessories, and organic matter—into unsettling reimaginings that challenge our perceptions of the mundane. Ted’s meticulous collages urge viewers to reconsider the world of consumerism and its underlying messages.

  • Elizabeth Crawford (born 1959, Detroit, MI) is a Philadelphia-based artist whose minimalist still lifes offer a quiet but profound exploration of everyday objects. By carefully arranging and isolating these items, she reveals the hidden cultural and symbolic meanings that often go unnoticed. Crawford’s work invites reflective engagement with the world around us, pushing viewers to reconsider their relationships with material goods.
