A London-based mythologist and storyteller, Seema specializes in women’s narratives with particular expertise in the erotic literature of Ancient India and is an acknowledged authority on the Kama Sutra.
Her work on the revival and reproduction of traveling storytelling traditions is associated with the UNESCO project for Endangered Oral Traditions. She is currently heading the project to rehabilitate the Kaavad storytelling tradition of Rajasthan.
Seema uses storytelling within the corporate sector to teach strategic leadership and management. She is the Co-founder of Story Weave and holds the Guinness Book record for the largest rangoli in the world. She lives with her husband and her three children and is known to hoard books.
Varuna is an immigrant, South Asian woman. She is a health media specialist, gender justice activist, and freelance writer who writes on the intersection between gender, sexual health, mental health, and racial justice. Her by-lines have appeared in numerous popular US-based publications. Her photojournalism work on 'Women in Coffee: Rwanda' was among 20 pieces of work selected from around the world by the Global Health 50/50 "This is Gender" currently on exhibit at University College London. In 2020, Varuna was named 'Woman of Courage' by Serena Williams in collaboration with Bumble with a Vogue Magazine feature highlighting her work in advancing sexual health education in South Asian communities. She has also featured in Business Insider, CTV, and Canadian Broadcast Channel as an expert in her field. Recently, she was one among 5 nominated for the 'Journalist of the Year' by SH24, an NHS-led sexual health initiative.
