About Event

You're invited to join us for our school-wide DEI Coffee Convo to celebrate Black History Month at the Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability! This will be our first event led by the Doerr School DEI Liaisons, a group of students and postdocs dedicated to creating a more inclusive community. Meet us in the Hartley Conference Room and Kitchen to grab some coffee, pastries, and learn more about the DEI liaisons program and to engage in fun trivia and win prizes with fellow community members. All staff, students, postdocs, faculty are welcome to join.

Black History Month is an opportunity to celebrate the legacy and continuous contributions of African American and Black communities in this country. For other ways to celebrate at Stanford, visit the Black Community Services Center's events page, which will be updated with opportunities in the coming week.

Dom Johnson (Associate Director) of the Black Community Services Center (BCSC), will speak about the significance of Black History/Liberation month. Additionally, we will hear about the history of BCSC's history on campus for the past 55 years.

Hosted by the SDSS DEI office and DEI liaisons Jovan Aigbekaen and R.J. Moore, this community school-wide coffee hour will feature pastries, trivia, and book prizes. The coffee and pastries are from Nirvana Soul, a coffee shop in Cupertino and San José.

Everyone is welcome!

Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability community members attending this Coffee Convo will earn E-digital DEI stickers, as part of the efforts toward creating more awareness around the Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability DEI Action Plan.
