Science innovation has been the headline story for the past two years, yet despite this we are still drastically behind in policy, adoption and funding of deep technology. Science communication is crucial in galvanising public trust around global issues like climate change and ending the pandemic, or reassuring them about breakthrough technologies like AI and CRISPR. Yet many scientists and deep tech entrepreneurs struggle to capture the hearts and minds of investors, politicians and the public.
Science communication is critical for any entrepreneurs building deeply technical solutions in often nascent markets. It is an essential skill to be able to engage and excite all types of stakeholders about the market potential and positive benefits it can have on people, planet and prosperity.
For our first Cicada Buzz of 2022 (and first in-person event in a long time), we’re exploring the importance and value of science communication when building a deep tech business. Our panel will offer personal insights and practical advice to entrepreneurs who need to be able to communicate the story and value of their science and technology to many different audiences.
