Join us for a workshop to learn more about how Blackmagic’s new URSA Cine Immersive camera and Apple Immersive Video are changing the landscape of cinematic immersive experiences. These groundbreaking technologies are poised to revolutionize the market, influencing various aspects productions, including costs, creative potential, and overall quality of experience. This workshop aims to introduce these innovative technologies, facilitate discussions on best practices, and foster a collaborative conversation about how to navigate this pivotal moment for the medium.

Featuring:

Michael Smollin, Color Pipeline & Workflow Manager from Blackmagic Design is a seasoned colorist with over two decades of experience in the film and television industry. Since 2000, he has brought his expertise to a wide range of projects, including recent feature credits such as Safety and Rise for Disney+.

For the past six years, Michael has served as the Color Pipeline and Workflow Manager on the Workflow Team at Blackmagic Design. In this role, he collaborates with creatives, productions, post-production facilities, and studios to implement and optimize the full DaVinci Resolve ecosystem—from editorial through finishing and delivery.

Matt Celia, co-founder of Light Sail VR will discuss best practices on capturing and the post-production workflows needed to deliver stellar immersive content.

Michael Butterfield, CTO of SpatialGen will explain how to overcome the challenges of streaming and live streaming immersive video. SpatialGen takes on the heavy lifting of processing and distribution for the new URSA Cine Immersive camera, making real-time immersive delivery easy and scalable.

Lori H. Schwartz from StoryTech will help guide the way through this new workflow to ensure you can deliver the best immersive content you can.

DIRECTIONS:  Please turn into the first gate off of Alla Rd, making the first left. (Ignore Google Maps ).

​​​The Verizon Innovation Lab entrance is located parallel to West Jefferson Boulevard on the second floor of Building 500. Please enter through the double doors facing West Jefferson Boulevard. ADA ramp and elevator accessibility provides access to the Innovation lab on the second floor.

​​​​​PARKING. For your convenience, there is parking available at the venue and parking will be validated. Hold on to your ticket, you will need it to exit and the venue CANNOT replace a missing ticket.  ​​Street parking is also available around Home Depot and near Runway Playa Vista Shopping Center off Jefferson. Parking is also available on Coral Tree Road across the street from the office.

ARRIVAL TIME. Due to the high level of interest and limited space, we kindly ask that you arrive on time. If your plans have changed and you are no longer able to attend, kindly let us know as soon as possible to accommodate new folks that join the waitlist and cancel your registration.

FOOD AND DRINKS will be provided throughout the event.
