ASGA Call 85 - The Landscape of Solar Grazing: ASGA Census Report
We know solar grazing has expanded exponentially over the past few years, but just how much?
To answer that question, ASGA and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory collaborated on a comprehensive census of solar grazing. Now, thanks to that partnership and the participation of many ASGA members, we have a clear picture of solar grazing and exciting (and surprising) results to share with you!
Join us for our special webinar going through the census results and analyzing their implications for agrivoltaics and the sheep and solar industries.
Alyssa Andrew and Dr. Anna Clare Monlezun will present insights from the census. Shawn Rumery from Solar and Storage Industries Institute (SI2) and Lynn Fahrmeier from the American Sheep Industry Association (ASI) will discuss how the results relate to developments in their respective industries and how those industries are responding to the solar grazing opportunity.
The census results illuminate insightful details about the landscape of solar grazing across the country, while providing a bird’s eye view of overall impact. This special webinar will feature the most poignant highlights of the census, including:
Solar grazier demographics
Scale of solar grazing
Operations and solar grazing in practice
Solar grazier perspectives
The 2024 United States Solar Grazing Census was supported by a grant of the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, U.S. Department of Energy. The census was conducted and completed late last year, after two rounds of surveys and (127) of participants. The preliminary results of the first round were presented in April 2024.
The full census results will be published in a forthcoming report, "United States Solar Grazing 2024 Census", by the American Solar Grazing Association.
