Salsa Cubana & Rueda de Casino :: NEW Beginner Level 1 7:30pm & Level 2 8:30pm :: 4 Weeks August 31 - September 28
We are excited to announce DANCE CLASS B4 SALSA NIGHT Every WEDNESDAY at The Range. We will teach multiple Latin dance genres in month long series this fall, starting with Salsa in September (starts 8/31), Bachata in October, and Cha Cha Cha in November. From August 31 to September 28 2022, we offer New 4 Week Beginner Level 1 and Level 2 Series in Salsa & Rueda de Casino. New students register for Level 1. Level 2 is open to students who have completed or grasped the content of Level 1. Please note: on September 14th we will have a Salsa combination and Bachata workshop, at 7:30pm and 8:30pm, with DJ Instructor Geraldo Iglesias. All are welcome. The dates of the Salsa & Rueda Class Series are 8/31, 9/7, 9/21, and 9/28. Rueda de Casino is an excellent way to learn Salsa timing, repertoire, and lead-follow. In Rueda, dancers change partners in a Salsa "wheel," while performing steps and combinations to the arrangement of a caller. Rueda allows students to dance with various partners in fluid motion, and in a relaxed setting. In our L1 and L2 series, we start in line format and progress into single couple and circle formats.
Beginner Level 1 7:30-8:30pm. In our Beginner series we teach the set of steps needed to dance Cuban Salsa individually, as a single couple, and amongst multiple couples in a Rueda de Casino. These include a set of 15 steps, the combinations “Dile Que No” and "Dile Que Si" (cross-body leads), ans “Exhibela” (right turn).
Beginner Level 2/3 8:30-9:30pm. In Level 2 we review and refine Level 1 content, and begin Rueda de Casino with the lead-follow basic "Guapea," and the partner change call of “Dame” (pronounced “da-me." We then work on combinations built off of the open break such as "Adios" and "Enchufle." In Level 3 we add the follower's "right turn on 1," a lead-follow technique which opens up Cuban Salsa repertoire.
Open Dance & Public Lesson. After class, students can continue practicing before the Intro Latin Dance Lesson and Party. A footwork & partner dance lesson begins at 9:45pm, followed by party with DJ until 1am.
Footwear. Please wear comfortable fitted footwear with medium level traction and flat soles, or low heals or lifts, to facilitate movement, sustain energy, and avoid fatigue.

Food & Beverage. The Range invites customers to bring in food from outside vendors, and to purchase beverages from The Range. Outside drinks are not allowed (water bottle is okay). We appreciate support for the bar.
Registration and Payment. Register in advance using the form provided here. Payment can be completed online or at class. The suggested price per class is a sliding scale of $7 to $12, based on what you can afford. An additional discount is provided as needed. The cover for the portion of Salsa Wednesday that starts after class, the “main event,” is $10; for students taking class and staying for the event, we bundle the price for both into a suggested price of $15. To pay online, the base price is set as a bundle of $15 per session, or $60 for the series, with the following percentage discount codes that can be applied in the coupon section, for either a single session or series: 10OFF, 20OFF, 30OFF, 40OFF, 50OFF, and 100OFF. Use the last code to pay at class by cash, check, Venmo, CashApp. Cash is preferred. Please be sure to answer the survey questions that accompany the registration form. If you are a continuing student and wish to take both Level 1 and Level 2/3, you are welcome to do so, and can do so for the suggested bundle price.
