​Jim Head

​Jim Head has established himself as one of Canada’s leading jazz guitarists, performing with a number of acclaimed Canadian and International jazz artists. He has performed in clubs, concerts, and festivals across Canada, as well as Europe, China, Mexico, and the U.S.A. 

​Jim has appeared on over forty recordings, including three as a leader: Mind's Eye, released in 2006, his 2015 Juno-nominated release, Zoetrope, and his acclaimed 2022 recording, Prismatic. Jim is also an associate professor at MacEwan University in Edmonton, where he has been the guitar department head since 2007.

​Journey of the Horse is a Governor General award nominated exhibit housed in the Mah Society of Edmonton. Historic photos, original artifacts, personal stories, and immersive spaces guide guests through the challenges and triumphs of Edmonton’s Chinese community. We invite you to immerse yourself in this historic experience and learn more about Edmonton’s Chinese past.
