About the speaker
AJ grew up in Cainta, Rizal and graduated in 2023 with a BSc Data Science degree and a minor in Philosophy at Yale-NUS in Singapore. His thesis was on data privacy & poisoning, where he collaborated with Google Brain and published a part of it in ACM CCS’22. He also worked at the French National Centre for Scientific Research for a year, where he researched how to make large language model training more efficient. At AI Standards Lab, he contributes to the writing of AI safety standards to support the EU AI Act. He strongly believes in the need to develop a culture of safety for AI.
