Fire Safety Training : Level 1
Fire As Medicine Safety Training Series : Level 1
To begin your onboarding process of learning the art of Fire As Medicine, you will join our Fire Keepers for an in-person two part series of Fire Safety Training Level 1 & 2.
Fire spinning is not just a performance art—it is a practice of presence. A moving meditation. A ritual. A reminder that beauty and danger often live side by side. The moment we engage with fire, we are asked to slow down, listen deeply, and respect its power. In this way, fire becomes more than a tool—it becomes a teacher.
Fire Safety Training Level 1 will outline core safety practices for spinning small fire props in outdoor settings, with roots in long-standing community traditions. It is designed to offer clear foundations for those learning, and to ensure that everyone shares a common language of safety, consent, and care.
While this training provides essential information, it is not exhaustive. Fire safety is a living practice—built through mentorship, curiosity, repetition, and honest conversation. Continue learning from those with experience. Ask questions. Reflect on each burn.
Each new initiate will be assigned a Fire Keeper as a guide for mentorship to support this new journey and experience, and act as a bridge to our community. This Fire Keeper will be your supervisor under a probationary period at any events or gatherings until you complete Fire Safety Training Level 2.
