A message from your host:
September 1st is my mother’s death anniversary. Over the past 17 years without her, and after losing my entire family by age 23, I quickly realized how significant grief dates and death anniversaries are—they surrounded me. At times, it felt like I was constantly bracing for the next one.
I was surprised by how few resources and understanding there were for navigating these dates, so I have been collecting them with a deep desire to share ever since.
Through my own therapy, somatic practices, rituals, and time working with Hospice of the Valley this gathering has been close to my heart for a while (and watching it turn into one of my most FAQs, it seems like yours too). It was a journey of waiting for the right time and place. When I asked my dear friend Danielle, founder of my favorite Casa Luna, about available dates, she told me the only open weekend date in September and October was Sunday, September 1st.
I don’t believe in coincidences and so I invite you to join me in this divine gathering.
xx Natalie, founder of Sunday Mournings
