Join us for a down-to-earth conversation about the art of interior design and collecting as a lifestyle. Hosted within the beautiful atrium of our current exhibition, we have curated a group of incredible individuals from different sectors of the art and design worlds to share their insights and personal experiences with us. Discover new ways to collect and design the spaces that matter most to you. Learn from experts on the ways they approach art and design and integrate this into their daily lives — and how you can do the same.

PANELIST BIOS:

EMILY HAVENS:

Emily has spent the past twenty years as an art advisor, working with a wide range of clients, from ambitious, long-term collectors to global brands, including Valentino and other large-scale organizations.

Emily educates clients on emerging and established artists to build world-class collections and collaborates with prestigious museums, such as the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Brooklyn Museum, and the Institute of Contemporary Art, Boston.

Because of her trusted reputation and longstanding relationships with artists, galleries, auction houses, and institutions, Emily provides unparalleled access to valuable collecting opportunities. She offers a deep understanding of the intricacies of acquiring art, and she empowers clients to expand their vision and see possibilities through her process, which is grounded in art historical knowledge and influenced by the dynamics of the global art market. Emily is driven by an innate sense of what resonates with today's social and cultural climate while always maintaining a curatorial, timeless sensibility, creating collections that are meaningful, unique, engaging and valuable.

She lives in Brooklyn, NY with her family and works with clients throughout the world.

ALEXANDER HANKIN

Alexander Hankin is a well-known arts philanthropist, social commentator, and third-generation real estate developer. Hankin's passion for the arts has led him to take an active role in major art institutions as well as being an art, fashion and culture columnist for Philadelphia Style Magazine, Gotham, Guest of a Guest, Elevated Magazine and Quest Magazine and along with his online persona @HRH_Alexander.   He helped launch and co-chairs the MAD Luminaries group at the Museum of Arts and Design and host's talks and panels for the museum under the Luminaries Live banner. Hankin is also Chair Emeritus of the Young Friends of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, a member of the Board of Directors of Opera Philadelphia and sits on the Whitney Museum of American Art's Contemporaries Committee and the London-based Serpentine's Future Contemporaries Committee. He also is actively involved in the Guggenheim Young Acquisitions Committee. 

Additionally, Hankin created and chairs The Downhill Disco at the Aspen Art Museum, a unique après-ski fundraiser. He is always looking for new and innovative ways to engage people in the world of art and culture.

JORDY MURRAY:

Jordy is the founder of Friends of Form, a boutique interior design studio based in NYC. Under her leadership, the studio has gained acclaim for its innovative approach to 20th-century collectibles, skillfully recontextualizing timeless designs for modern living. Leveraging her time in the fashion industry, Jordy infuses the studio's work with a distinctive editorial flair, creating elegant, multi-layered spaces influenced by art, history & cinema.
