119th SF Hardware Meetup @ Humanmade | Wildfire Prevention + Recovery
Join for our first demo night of the year exploring how hardware is helping respond to natural disasters.
There will be a chance for an open mic. All demos and standup pitches welcome.
About Humanmade
Humanmade is a nonprofit open-access makerspace where innovation meets impact. Our mission is to empower individuals in our community to become the next generation of inventors, designers, and makers by providing access to the best training, tools, and facilities through workforce development.
We have a great group of guest speakers
Sonia is CEO of Pano AI, which is leading in early wildfire detection and intelligence, providing advanced tools and real-time data through AI-powered, 360-degree cameras to help governments, utilities, and landowners protect lives and property.
Amogha is CEO of Carbon Origins, who's autonomous bobcat was used in LA's wildfire response. Their equipment can be remotely operated with a VR headset and automated to do repetitive tasks.
Kate is Co-founder of FireBreak Risk, a consumer app for wildfire mitigation with a possible future offering of parametric insurance.
Dr. Waleed S, "Lee" Haddad is Co-Founder & CTO at BurnBot, which is developing new technology and methods for treating fuel (vegetation) to help with the wildfire problem, and climate change. They worked with Advanced Prototype Engineering (APROE) for development, and Mose (Founder @ APROE) will be joining.
