CivaConnect
CivaConnect is a monthly online gathering that brings together creative practitioners from underrepresented minority communities across the UK. This series will serve as an open, accessible space where established creatives share their journeys, processes, struggles, and lessons with emerging talents and curious minds within the community.
For this month's session, we will be joined by Nneka Iwunna Ezemezue. Nneka is a visual artist with a multidisciplinary practice spanning photography, graphic design, collage, and immersive arts. Her work explores themes of culture, tradition, gender dynamics, environmental consciousness, and communal complexity.
She has exhibited at festivals, biennials, and galleries, including The Photo Fence in New York, Exposure Festival in Canada, and Addis Foto Fest in Ethiopia, among others. Her work has been featured in notable publications such as Dienacht Magazine, NPR, British Journal of Photography, The Guardian, and World Press Photo Witness.
Ezemezue has received project funding from the Magnum Foundation Fund and Arts Council England. She was a finalist for the Innovate UK Immersive Tech Awards (2025) and was shortlisted for the Contemporary African Photography Prize (2022).
