About the webinar series
Emergency management organizations across Canada are familiar with tabletop and live exercises. Join us as we deepen our understanding and knowledge of logistics and how it might be amplified in advance of a pending disaster.
This 3-part webinar series is being coordinated by Emergency Management Logistics Canada, IAEM Canada, Team Rubicon Canada, CRHNet, ICS Canada, and NAIT, and moderated with the support of EPIC Podcasts. Each session will include:
A 40-minute tabletop exercise delivered in webinar format by leading and experienced Logistics Section Chiefs
A 20-minute Q & A session to engage in shared learning
A copy of the wildfire scenario for use in your own community
A summary briefing and video link following each webinar session.
Who should join?
Emergency management, communications, procurement, and training personnel. People with ICS background and training will find this information beneficial as a supplement to existing certifications.

Meet Our Expert Panelists
Scott Cameron is a champion of community resilience and safety, specializing in leveraging social capital to address complex challenges. As the President/CEO of bassa Social Innovations Inc., and co-founder of Emergency Management Logistics Canada, Scott has dedicated his professional career and entrepreneurial endeavors to community and social development.
With a master’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies (MAIS) from Royal Roads University, focusing on Sustainable Community Development and Leadership, Scott is passionate about the power of collaboration. He believes communities achieve remarkable outcomes by sharing collective wisdom, networks, and resources.
Nathan Jacknife's career in emergency management began in 1998 with the Wildland Fire Fighter Type 2 Sustained Action member's course. For that first training a career in emergency management was formed. In the years since, Nathan has continued to serve Ab Wildfire as a seasonal wildfire team member, full time employee, and contractor providing single source wildfire management in various positions to support wildfire suppression activities. Nathan is also the honorarily appointed Director of Emergency Management for the Cold Lake First Nations.
Ben Gallagher is the Manager of the Office of Emergency Management for the City of Mississauga, Ontario, where he has worked since 2018. As Canada’s 7th largest City, the City of Mississauga was the recipient of the 2022 Prepared Community Award, presented by the International Association of Emergency Managers (IAEM) Canada Chapter, and the 2022 Emergency Management Exemplary Service Award in the Resilient Communities category, presented by Public Safety Canada. Ben holds an Honours Bachelors Degree in Disaster & Emergency Management from York University, and a Masters Degree in Public Safety from Wilfrid Laurier University.
Dan Millar has been involved with The Salvation Army all his life and is third generation Salvationist. He started in the Public Relations office in the old Ontario Great Lakes Division in 2004 after 19 years as the owner of Pizza delight franchises in Hamilton.
He has held many different positions in the PR office and in 2013 was appointed as the Area Director for Public Relations & development and in Nov of 2021 Dan joined the THQ EDS team as the Manager of response and recovery and Partnerships and is now the Assistant Territorial Director of Emergency Disaster services since November 2022.
Aislinn Gentles is the current OHS & Emergency Program Manager for Saulteau First Nations. Aislinn was born and raised on the traditional territory of the Treaty 8 Nations, and currently works, lives, and plays on the territories of the Beaver, Anishinaabe, and Denendeh Nations. Aislinn studied at both St Francis Xavier University (Antigonish, NS) and the University of British Columbia (Vancouver, BC) in her completion of a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology. Moving back to Northeast BC full time in 2016, Aislinn has spent most of her professional career approaching hazard mitigation from an Occupational Health & Safety, achieving her NCSO in 2019 before transitioning into Emergency Management, with the completion of her Associates Certificate in Emergency Management from JIBC in 2023. Aislinn began working for Saulteau First Nations in 2022 as their EOC Director, ESS Director, & Local FireSmart Representative.
