Protecting the Ocean: Ocean Entrepreneurship
Protecting the Ocean: Ocean Entrepreneurship
Protection + safety have a variety of meanings, different for the Coast Guard and Navy than for marine biologists and climate scientists. Preservation efforts of the Bay Area's Mission Blue nonprofit provide a perspective. BlueTech companies and investors are attuned to the ocean as an environment for commercial opportunity. We will explore how, even in this charged political environment, best practices can prevail.
This event features a roundtable discussion, including
Richard Berman, leading in Sustainability for Port of SF
Mayor Eduardo Martinez of Richmond, Ca.
Seamus Murphy, Executive Director at San Francisco Bay Ferry
Liz Taylor, President, Deep Ocean Exploration and Research (DOER Marine) in Alameda, Ca.
Moderated by:Janelle Kellman, Candidate for Lt. Governor of California and Former Mayor of Sausalito, Ca.
Energy Innovators Network (EIN), organizers of this event, recently launched the Hub for Blue Green Maritime, a first-ever service organization for the SF Bay Area, connecting early-stage companies to investors and nonprofits, researchers and universities, journalists, media, and news outlets, helping pioneers in this sector to flourish and to succeed. We advocate for responsible stewardship of waters, shores, and sealife.
The Port of San Francisco are generous hosts of this event.
If we are at capacity, be aware that there's a size large BlueTech event in Alameda on Tuesday the 22nd, also part of SF Climate Week. Join us there!
