AI Control Hackathon 2025 at LISA
Join us immediately following ControlConf for a hands-on hackathon focused on building, testing, and breaking AI control mechanisms. This collaborative event brings together researchers, engineers, security professionals, and AI enthusiasts to tackle the emerging challenges in AI control - techniques that mitigate security risks from AI even when the AI itself might be trying to subvert them.
This hackathon is in collaboration with Redwood Research and the UK AI Security Institute, and provides a practical extension to ControlConf.
Challenge Tracks:
ControlArena Challenges: Work with realistic deployment environments like Kubernetes infrastructure protection and command line interfaces
Control Protocol Design: Create innovative control mechanisms to restrict AI systems from harmful actions
Red Teaming & Vulnerability Research: Identify weaknesses in existing control systems through systematic testing
Who Should Attend: We welcome participants from diverse backgrounds, including AI researchers, engineers, information security professionals, and students. No prior experience with AI control specifically is required, though familiarity with machine learning, programming, or information security is helpful.
Prizes: $2,000 in prizes for the winning teams across all tracks!
