About Event

This is a two hour class on the basics of home herbalism great for beginners or intermediate plant people. The class is a "Pay What You Think Is Fair" or Sliding Scale price. Choose the amount you wish to pay at check out from $0 to $50.00.

We will cover growing herbs, harvesting, wild (weed)-crafting ethics, incorporating herbs into your kitchen, how to tap into the rhythms of nature, tincture making (both folk and scientific method), some ways to make mushroom medicine and formulation.

You will be introduced or re-acquainted a few common wild plants and fungi and their main uses in herbal medicine. We won't get too into botany but I offer a few resources on where to learn more and plug in to crowdsourcing plant and mushroom identification.

Bring your notebooks and calculators to class for the formulation section (and a nervine tea of choice if you are adverse to math like me). My goal is that you will leave class inspired to use herbs daily and to make your own herbal concoctions to know that the quality and love put in your products is on point (and cheaper than buying health and body products).

About Your Instructor:

AC Stauble (she/her) is a community herbalist, herb farmer, podcaster, and tech support person for online herbal communities and classes. She loves to teach interactive demonstrations getting folks engaged hands on with herbal medicine. She's expanded to online teaching since the pandemic and has enjoyed the challenge and creative process of making slideshows and learning how to maintain engagement through the internet. When she's not farming or working on creating herbal medicines for her business, Traveling Herb Farmer, she enjoys traveling around the US sharing herbal tea, first aid and remedies, and harvesting abundant plants along the way. Check out her podcast The Plant Cunning Podcast to listen to some incredible conversations with herbalists (like Pam Montgomery, Rosemary Gladstar, 7Song, Guido Mase), astrologers, mages, farmers and plant people of all sorts who share their wisdom and insights.
