JULY KC DIGITAL DRIVE HEALTH INNOVATION TEAM MEETING
AGENDA
We had to forgo our HIT meeting for June, but have great topics for July. We look forward to seeing all of you.
In our first presentation, we will hear from a great community partner, Swope Health. They have seen real achievements in their use of analytics to empower providers to enhance patient care, reduce costs, and improve operational efficiency. This kind of investment is very significant as Swope is a federally qualified health center (FQHC). These safety net providers deal with some of the tightest budgets in the industry and must be very strategic in their use of resources to achieve their desired outcomes.
Our presenter with be Thurston Smith, PhD, MA, MBA, Chief Information Officer for Swope Health. You may acquaint yourself with his extensive background here.
Staying with the FQHC theme, we have invited Tish Bryant of the Missouri Primary Care Association (MPCA) to cover MPCA's relationship to the Gravity Project and the practical application of Gravity interventions and definitions in primary care in Missouri. MPCA represents all FQHCs in the state. The Gravity Project is a national collaborative initiative focused on improving how health and social care systems share information about social drivers of health (SDoH). Aligned with many health IT bodies, including HIMSS, Gravity is the primary contributor to HHS's standardization program (USCDI) respective to the SDoH domain.
Latisha "Tish" Bryant is Community Integration Coordinator at MPCA. Her background information is available here.
